WELCOME !
Botswana Public Officers' Medical Aid Scheme was established in 1990, through a presidential directive. The Scheme offers medical aid cover nationally in Botswana to public servants and their dependants. However, those covered are also able to get access to health care services outside the borders of Botswana .
The Scheme is open only to all civil servants and dependants. Botswana Public Officers' Medical Scheme (BPOMAS) is administered by Associated Fund Administrators (AFA) Botswana (Pty) Ltd. AFA is the largest medical aid administrator in Botswana with total lives covered by schemes under AFA's administration representing over 70% of the total lives covered by medical aid schemes in Botswana.
BPOMAS is a member of the International Federation of Health Plans (iFHP) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). This membership gives BPOMAS access to expertise and knowledge from within the health insurance industry worldwide.
